On the heels of his recent break from the world of action and adventure, The Sopranos actor John Belushi announced he won’t be making his long-awaited return to the drama.
“I’m not gonna be back in Spartacus,” he said in an interview with ABC News.
“They said I wouldn’t be back for Season 4.”
In recent years, Belushi has said that he plans to return for the final three episodes of the fourth season of Spartacus.
“Well, I’ve been doing Spartacus, so I think I’ll be back,” he told People magazine in 2016.
“It’s kind of like the big, big thing.
It’s a big thing, but it’s not gonna happen, so, you know, I’m not in it for the money.”
Belushi recently starred as George Bailey in the hit series’ fifth season.
In the episode, Bailey’s team has a surprise guest appearance from the character of “Bubble” — a “buckyball” who plays the role of an undercover cop on the hunt for a mysterious serial killer.
“Buckyball is just the kind of guy who’d be a great addition to the show,” Belushi told People.
“He’s a character who’s very likable, who’s kind, and he’s kind to the cops.”
BelugaBumBumBailey will be making a return to Spartacus in Season 5, according to his representatives.
“Sparticus: The Complete Series” was released in 2006 and starred John Lithgow as the title character, the son of a wealthy lawyer.
